UN map resolution and education reforms aim to reshape global perception of Africa

A United Nations resolution passed this month calls for a revision of the world map to depict the African continent with greater geographic accuracy, joining a series of initiatives aimed at reshaping global perceptions of the region. The resolution, supported by a majority of member states, urges cartographic authorities and publishers to adopt projections that correct longstanding distortions in the size and placement of African nations.
