Trump has said a deal with Tehran “could happen” amid what he describes as “intensive” talks.

Tehran announced on Monday that it is holding “intensive” indirect talks with Washington to avoid a fresh round of U.S. attacks on Iran ahead of this week’s U.S. mid‑term elections. Foreign‑ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran plans to reopen the blockaded Strait of Hormuz if the U.S. meets its demands.
