Shaun Edwards joins Red Roses as consultant for WXV

Defence guru Shaun Edwards has joined the Red Roses coaching staff in a consultancy capacity, a move announced after his departure from the French men’s national team in June. The former Wales and France head coach will remain with the squad until the conclusion of the WXV Global Series, bringing a wealth of experience from the highest levels of international rugby.

Edwards, who has never coached a women’s side before, was recruited by Red Roses head coach John Mitchell, who praised the former coach’s credentials as “exceptional.” The partnership is intended to strengthen the team’s defensive structure and overall tactical approach ahead of the WXV competition, where the Roses will face some of the world’s strongest sides.
