Russell aims to keep fighting in F1 title race after fastest practice in Baku

George Russell has vowed to continue his pursuit of the Formula One world championship despite trailing his Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli by 81 points. The British driver stated his goal is to win every remaining race, a stance he began to support by recording the fastest time in practice for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The race in Baku is scheduled for Saturday to avoid a clash with Azerbaijan’s national remembrance day.

Antonelli currently holds an advantage in the standings, having secured eight victories this season, including the two most recent races. The Italian driver won from 19th on the grid in Monza and subsequently took the flag in Madrid. Russell remains in the title race, insisting he will keep fighting until the championship is mathematically out of reach.
