Mother dead, daughter missing after suspected grizzly bear attack in British Columbia

A mother was found dead and her 19‑year‑old daughter remains missing after a suspected grizzly bear attack in a community in western Canada. The incident occurred in the same province where a grizzly attacked a group of schoolchildren last November.

The British Columbia Conservation Officer Service said in a social‑media post that it began a search for the two people over the weekend. An officer discovered the mother’s body during the Sunday search, and the search for the daughter continues.
