Microsoft drops Copilot Plus PC branding

Microsoft has announced that it will discontinue the “Copilot Plus PC” brand. The decision follows a period during which the label was promoted as a hallmark of PCs equipped with sufficient built‑in AI capabilities to deliver a high‑performance Copilot experience. Two and a half years after the initial push, Microsoft and Qualcomm appear to be acknowledging that the brand is no longer in use.

According to Windows Central reporter Zac Bowden, the latest 12‑inch Microsoft Surface Pro and 13‑inch Surface Laptop meet the technical specifications required for a Copilot Plus PC. However, Microsoft Surface CVP Brett Ostrom told the publication that these devices are not being marketed under that name. Kedar Kondap, Qualcomm’s SVP, was also quoted in the report, though no further details were provided.

The new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop meet the Copilot Plus PC requirements but are no longer marketed under that name.
