Kentucky Gov. Beshear Says Book Not Linked to 2028 White House Bid

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (D) clarified on Monday that his newly released book is not a precursor to a presidential campaign. Speaking with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Beshear dismissed speculation that the publication signals intent to run in the 2028 election, noting that many politicians use books to broaden their profile but it does not necessarily translate into a bid for the White House.

Beshear, who has served as governor since 2019, described the book as a memoir of his time in office and the challenges he has faced in state politics. He emphasized that the decision to write was driven by a desire to share lessons learned rather than to position himself for national office. The governor reiterated that his focus remains on advancing Kentucky’s policy agenda and that he has no current plans to seek a federal position.

In the absence of any formal announcement, Beshear’s comments suggest he will continue to concentrate on state governance. While the possibility of a future presidential run cannot be ruled out entirely, the governor’s statement makes it clear that the book is a personal project rather than a launchpad for a national campaign.
