Insta360 Dominates 360-Camera Market, Eyes Glasses Expansion
Insta360 has established itself as the dominant player in the 360‑degree camera market, capturing 73 percent of worldwide sales. The company has just shipped its 10 millionth camera and opened its first flagship U.S. store in New York City’s Times Square, signaling a strong presence in the consumer electronics arena.
The brand’s success is underpinned by significant investment in technology; it has spent $298 million on memory chips alone. Insta360’s cameras record every angle simultaneously, allowing users to shoot first and frame later. Although the company did not invent the 360‑degree format, its name has become synonymous with the category.
Looking beyond the two hemispherical lenses on a stick, Insta360 is now eyeing glasses and aims to challenge established competitors such as Canon.
