Hera Captures First Clear View of Asteroids from NASA's 2022 Redirection Experiment

Europe’s Hera spacecraft has taken its first clear images of the two asteroids that were part of NASA’s 2022 kinetic‑impact experiment to deflect a potentially hazardous space rock.

Now heading toward the pair, Hera will study the collision’s aftermath and investigate why the asteroid’s trajectory shifted far more than scientists had predicted.
