Greek Prime Minister says governments unprepared for AI

During a multilateral trade mission this week, most participating leaders adhered to standard economic messaging, but Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis broke from the script in an interview that highlighted concerns about artificial intelligence. The mission, which brought together officials from several European and Asian economies, was intended to promote investment and export opportunities, yet Mitsotakis used the platform to address a broader policy challenge.

Mitsotakis acknowledged that “no government is ready for what AI is about to do,” emphasizing the speed of AI development and the difficulty of crafting regulatory frameworks that keep pace with technological change.
