Google Announces Googlebook Laptop Designed for Android Phone Integration

Google has announced a suite of cross‑device features that aim to give Android users a level of integration comparable to Apple’s Continuity ecosystem linking iPhones and Macs. The company unveiled “Phone Hub” for Chrome OS, which places calls, messages, notifications and app shortcuts directly on compatible Chromebooks, and extended “Instant Tethering” and “Smart Lock” capabilities to allow seamless Wi‑Fi sharing and device unlocking without manual setup.

The new tools also include cross‑device copy‑and‑paste, shared media playback controls and synchronized calendar and reminder updates between Android smartphones and Chrome OS laptops. By leveraging the same Google account, users can transition work and personal tasks across hardware without interruption, mirroring the experience long enjoyed by Apple customers.
