Disney, Apple, and Peacock raise streaming service prices
US consumers are increasingly opting out of the streaming world as multiple services raise prices without providing significant additional benefits. Disney recently increased the cost of most Disney+ and Hulu service iterations and bundles by a couple of dollars per month, with only specific ad-supported bundles remaining at their previous price points. The company’s terms of service state that it reserves the right to insert ads before and after programming on any subscription tier, regardless of the payment level.
Price increases have become a common trend across the industry, prompting The Verge to maintain a dedicated page for such news. Apple has raised its prices four times in four years, while Peacock subscribers have seen their monthly bills increase by five or six dollars since the summer of 2025, including a recent hike last month. Netflix, which has not raised prices since March 2026, is noted to likely be approaching another price increase.
